Tiger Art Gaulino Chair
Óscar Tusquets describes the Tiger Art Gaulino Easy Chair in his own words: „A limited edition of 50 unique pieces, where the seat has been painted one by one by myself, with the interpretations of a tiger’s skin. This edition celebrates, on the one hand, BD’s 50th Anniversary, and on the other hand, the Year of the Tiger in the East. The leather is minimally altered. It is not ‘pressed’ and preserves the imperfections of the animal. The frame is stained, revealing the natural grains of the ash“. Óscar Tusquets.
Ash wood and leather are the materials from which the Tiger Art Gaulino Easy armchair is made. While the ash wood is stained black to preserve the natural grain of the wood, the leather is also treated with authenticity in mind. In this way, the grain of the leather is also preserved in its originality. Each seat is hand-painted by Óscar Tusquets with the look of a tiger skin.

In the 1970s, Spanish architect and founding member of BD Barcelona, Óscar Tusquets Blanca, meets his compatriot, the surrealist Salvador Dalí. BD Barcelona’s relationship with the art world is deeply rooted in the Spanish entrepreneur’s beginnings and starts in 1972 with Salvador Dalí, one of the greatest painters of the 20th century. Between 1972 and 1974, the Spanish grand master and Óscar Tusquets developed the “Salivasofa”, the legendary art sofa inspired by the lips of the American film actress Mae West – actually Mary Jane West – and produced for the Mae West Hall in the Theatre Museum in Figueras. A first prototype was created in 1973, but it was not until thirty years later, in 2004, that it became available as a “Dalilips” sofa.
The Gaulino Chair also dates from the early 21st century, namely from 2010. Gaulino is an armchair that – with all its comfort – appears light. This is achieved by a lower backrest and the omission of anything superfluous. In this way, the Gaulino chair serves the purpose of sitting in a different way. The shape of the Gaulino Tiger Art Easy Chair is inspired by the more massive designs of Antoni Gaudí and Carlo Mollino. The Gaulino Easy Chair bears its name in reference to these two outstanding Spanish architects. The Gaulino chair lends itself both as a comfortable, exclusive dining room chair and as a solitaire for a visitor in the office. The Tiger Art Gaulino Easy Chair, on the other hand, is a collector’s item that delights its owner like a painting or an art object.
At TAGWERC, you get the Tiger Art Gaulino Easy Chair by Óscar Tusquets as a licensed original with authenticity guarantee.
