Table Gun chrom table lamp
The inscription of Gun’s lamp stand reflects this political intention. “Happiness is a hot gun” can be read here. Not to mention the inside of the lampshade, on which printed crosses underpin the statement. The lamp base forms the shape of the Russian atomatic rifle and machine gun Klaschnikow AK 47 standing vertically upwards on the lamp stand. In addition to the Klaschnikow AK 47 gun Philippe Starck used the silhouette of the Beretta handgun for the Bedside Gun table lamp. The Italian self-loading pistol, a top seller among handguns, is used under the name M 9 since 1985 by the US Army. In addition to the Beretta, Philippe Starck used the silhouette of the M16 rifle for the Lounge Gun floor lamp for his sociocritic design that had become a design icon.

With the table lamp Table Gun Chrome by Philippe Starck for Flos, the head of the lamp consists of a conical lampshade that provides direct light. In a simple and elegant way, the light source is concealed to the side. At the same time the light radiates upwards and downwards and immerses the direct environment in a harmonious play of light and shadow. The interior of the lampshade held in white (bedside gun chrome) or gold (bedside gun gold) reflects the light before it exits.
The lampshade is made of plasticized paper, while the lamp base is made of die-cast aluminum and then plated with gold (Table Gun Gold) or chrome (Table Gun Chrome). The cable is equipped with an electronic dimmer, which makes the lights of the Guns collection infinitely dimmable.
Whether reading light, mood light or noble and expressive accent on sideboards – the Table Gun Chrome table lamp by Italian lighting manufacturer Flos can be used in all other living areas. Finished with chrome – as here – or alternatively covered with 18 carat gold, the Table Gun lamp by Flos wants to stand out.
The Table Gun Chrome is available for two different light sources: on the one hand for the conventional lamp up to 105 watts with E27 socket and a light temperature of 2.700 Kelvin (warm white). On the other hand with 8 Watt LED, each with a light temperature of 2.700 Kelvin or 3.000 Kelvin (both warm white). A round base gives the Table Gun Chrome table lamp by Flos a secure footing. Here at the side is also the cable connection, which supplies the Table Gun Chrome with energy.
Flos claims to provide 20 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the Guns Lighting collection to the non-profit organization “Frères de Hommes Europe”, which provides humanitarian aid in crisis areas, notably in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The lights of the Guns collection are political statements and art that denounce both, war and arms trafficking and the associated predatory greed. As such, Guns are permanently exhibited in the museum of contemporary art “Center George Pompidou” in Paris.
Table Gun Chrome, the table lamp by Flos from the Guns lighting series, goes back to the design of Philippe Starck from the year 2005. Thanks to its striking and engaging silhouette, the 92,4 cm high table lamp Table Gun Chrome looks like a progressive light object, a statement for tables and sideboards. At the TAGWERC Design STORE you get the table lamp Table Gun Chrome as well as all lamps of the Guns collection by Flos as licensed originals with authenticity guarantee. In the Philippe Starck collection at TAGWERC, you will also find the Guns lights as Bedside Gun table lamp and Lounge Gun floor lamp.
