Wulff Armchair Hallingdal 376
“Wulff, a lounge chair whose upholstered form pays tribute to the handcrafted design of the 1930s”, with these words the manufacturer &tradition introduced the lounge chair in 2021. The interior design experts at TAGWERC Design STORE attribute the design to Danish architect and designer Viggo Boesen. On the one hand, the design of the lounge chair Wulff bears Boesen’s creative signature, on the other hand, Wulff ATD2 is reminiscent of the lounge armchair ‘Hos’, which Viggo Boesen designed in 1934. Hos Wulff, an outstanding Danish cabinetmaker and friend of Boesen, produced a few pieces of this chair at the time, which fetch top prices at design auctions.
As with the Little Petra lounge chair, Wulff also convinces with a special shape despite its compact size. Like a kind of negative form, the backrest of the Wulff lounge chair reproduces the anatomical silhouette of the person sitting on it. Thanks to this embeddedness, the Wulff lounge armchair feels particularly cosy and comfortable and playfully outshines large, voluminous wing chairs. Wooden armrests provide that extra portion of comfort.

Low to the ground, open and ‘hugging’, Wulff embodies the essence of a lounge armchair and allows an comfortable seating position in every conceivable environment: lobby, lounge, living room, club, gents, nursing room, children’s room, bedroom, hallway, office. As with the Little Petra armchair, the Wulff Lounge Chair is designed for maximum comfort and quality. The use of natural materials is at the centre of the manufacturing process: Legs and armrests of the chair are made of oak or walnut and pick up on Viggo Boesen’s love of natural materials.
In addition to the sheepskin-covered version, the Hallingdal fabric cover in particular supports this idea of design. Because upholstery fabric Hallingdal is itself a design classic. The Hallingdal upholstery, a classic among upholstery fabrics, brings out the harmoniously rounded shape of the Wulff ATD2 armchair perfectly. Hallingdal was the first wool fabric produced by Kvadrat, designed by legendary textile designer Nanna Ditzel in 1965. With a mixture of virgin wool and viscose, Hallingdal fits perfectly to the shape of the armchair.
For the interior design experts at TAGWERC, Wulff by &tradition is a lounge armchair that has what it takes to become a favorite place.
